Veronica Razo 2021-05-17 I was referred to this place by a friend, and was very impressed. I parked at the San Diego boarder and walked across. Once I crossed I called and Uber, it was about a $3 ride and less than a 10 minutes. The staff there was extremely friendly and tentative to all my needs. I did not have to wait long to be seen. The equipment was advanced and the facility was very clean. I am very happy with how well I was taken care of. The prices are also reasonable. I will definitely be back! Anthony Banuelos 2020-02-01
How does Radiesse work?
Radiesse is made up of calcium hydroxyapatite gel microspheres that work immediately after injection. Calcium-heparin is made up of ions of phosphate and calcium. They both occur naturally in the human body.
The injectable gel gradually takes over filling in volume, with your skin producing more natural fillers. So your skin does more of the work for you. The gel helps/is made of hydrogen, oxygen and carbon. These three components create a structure that mimics connective tissue.
Eventually, the CAHA dissolves into your body, leaving behind the collagen that it had helped create. Many people can experience results for well over a year or even two years with Radiesse, because of its unique science.
Procedure for Radiesse
Doctors will inject Radiesse in their offices while using localized anesthesia. There may be some discomfort or pain during the injection which is normal and temporary.
First, your doctor will determine where you need to receive each injection. They’ll then proceed by applying antiseptic to the points on your body that the injection is being administered. After this, they’ll decide on the dosage. Finally, they’ll inject you with the medication.
Radiesse procedures take as long as 15 minutes, depending on how many injections are needed. There’s no recovery time required at the doctor’s office and you can go home immediately afterwards.
Targeted areas for Radiesse
Radiesse is a popular filler that is mostly used around the nose and mouth to reduce wrinkles. It can also be used on other parts of the face and body such as the scalp, hands or feet. In some cases, Radiesse is injected under breast tissue to improve cleavage.
Radiesse is also a great choice if you want to fill in lost volume on the back of your hands. It is often used by people with HIV who have lost a lot of fat in their faces. Are there any risks or side effects
The most common side effects of Radiesse injections in the face are:
- swelling

If you have a history of allergic reactions or you’re allergic to any of the ingredients in Radiesse, it’s best that you avoid this procedure. You should also avoid Radiesse if you’re allergic to lidocaine or similar medications.
People with bleeding disorders or who are pregnant or breastfeeding shouldn’t use Radiesse. For people with a history of herpes, the risk of an outbreak following treatment is higher.
Don’t let a skin infection put you at additional risk of having an infection by receiving Radiesse injections. Be aware that all procedures carry some form of risk. If you go ahead with the injection, please be sure not to inject in or near any blood vessels as this can be dangerous. Possible complications could be permanent and include:
- scabbing (temporary)
- scarring (permanent)
- stroke
- paleness or a white tinge to the affected skin
- abnormal vision
- blindness
- severe pain
If you have an unusual symptom – or, symptoms continue to get worse – contact your doctor as soon as possible. In rare cases, nodules could form under the skin which may require corticosteroid or surgical treatment.
If you receive an X-ray or CT scan following a Radiesse treatment, be sure to tell your doctor. Radiesse injections create microspheres that can be seen in these types of scans. Your doctor should know so they can monitor the treatment for any side effects.
What to expect after Radiesse?
You’ll see noticeable improvement in the treated skin within a week.
Radiesse is not permanent, so you’ll need to repeat treatments if needed. This will depend on the individual’s needs and might only be required once every 2 years for some people. Others might need some maintenance injections in between major treatments.
Swelling shouldn’t be too severe and should go down within 36 hours. You may experience some bruising or discomfort which can be relieved with over-the-counter medication.
You will be able to get back to your normal life as soon as you stop taking effervescent medication, but it’s important not to put strain on your skin or talk too much. The side effects may last for at least 24 hours before clearing up.
